I have a ls vtec swap in my 89 CRX. The car will start after priming the fuel pump a few times and will only idle for about 5 seconds then dies. If you try to give it gas, it dies. The tps and map sensors read fine, I used a Hondata ECu to check all of my electrical. I changed the fuel filter and put a pressure gauge on it to see what my pressure was like. 50 psi on crank and drops to about 45 after crank with just the pump on. I then changed the fuel pressure regulator and still no change. I'm guessing my fuel sock is dirty? Any ideas please help!!!!

 

need alot more info than that. did u just swap engine in? r u getting spark? r u getting fuel in the cylinders? any cels?? almost sounds like ur tps is backwards......... but need more info

 

I've got the same problem and would luv to find out what's the cause.

 

Is the car OBD1 or OBD0? CELs?

If the car is obd1, with the conversion harness when wiring the o2 sensor, switch the black wires, if they are switched the car will die shortly after starting it as the wires are backwards. Hope this might help.

 

I'll check it out. The thing that gets me is that it was driving fine and then next day it's got this issue. I have obd1 with s300 and ls1 witch is not hooked up because it was giving us a hard time reading on the s300.
