Good thread guys! The Accord forum has been lacking this type of material for awhile now. Although it belongs in other forums, I want to keep it here to educate the Accord frequenters more.

i dont see it that way.. the h22 which to me are accord related come in those two styles so to say.. and the h22 must be resleeved to run forged pistons.. so this is almost accord related

no...open deck is better for cooling...because the coolant is in the circle around the cylinder sleeves...hense why 90% of them are open today...
the closed deck is just stronger because the sleeves don't have anywhere to go

so is it safe to say that open deck will last long longer(since it has better cooling advantages) than an closed deck block?
plus obd1 H22's are closed deck and obd2 ones are open...

and 97-00 is open deck with OBDII -- or so i believe, correct me if i am wrong.

Only difference between all F22's are the VTEC head, different intake and exhaust manifolds, and someone sad the F22A6 has a more aggressive cam...I'm not sure about this though.
