Default Do BFG G-force DR's need a long burnout or not?

I just got some 205/50-14 G-force DR's, and have a few ?'s.

Do they hook better with a short or long burnout? Should I do it dry or go through the waterbox?

Also, how low can you safely go with the tire pressure on them?

you'll know when they are ready, you'll here the motor start to bog, then roll out.

DO NOT do your burn out IN the water box. Roll through so that the car stradles the water box, set ebrake, rev to 4-5k rpms and let the clutch out. when the start getting tacky, release ebrake and roll towards staging area.

You can go as low as 14-15 psi, but BFG rec. 18 as the lowest pressure.

Make you you air up before heading home if you run them on the street.

i was giving them a longer burnout last time. i got a 1.96 60 ft. just roll through the water box and do a 2-3 second burnout just after the water box. 18-20 psi.

Most people make the mistake of doing too short of a burnout on all types of racing tires....

I have seen lotsa people only doing dry-hops on everything from Nittos to ET Drags....SMOKE THEM OUT

Actually, most people make the mistake of doing too LONG of a burnout. After a while the rubber on the tire will get kinda greasy. 4-5 seconds is about all you need.

...and no, I repeat, NO dry hops. Do your burnout, then stage the car right away.

well, M/T techs say after the first burnout of the day, their slicks only need a good dry burnout to be consistant.

I say otherwise.

I did get 150+ runs out of first set of slicks also.

I'm just waiting on the 22x8x13 MT slicks which should hit the distrubutors within next week or so.
