LS stroke = 89mm
GSR stroke = 87.2mm
LS rods are shorter than GSR rods.
GSR, CTR, and ITR pistons are not a direct fit for the LS rods.
If you run GSR, CTR, or ITR pistons on LS Rods, you need to remove 1mm of material from the rods in order for the pistons to fit.
If you want a direct fit OEM piston that'll bump your compression, then run B17A1 pistons, they are a direct fit to the LS rods.
If you can't find P61 Pistons (P61 = B17) and you want to buy new ones, you might want to think about getting forged pistons made for the LS rods because it'll run you around the same amount of money anyway. This is the route I'd normally take since a set of forged pistons is better than stock ones and they cost around the same price.
I hope that answers your questions.
