Cleaning salt/sand off underbody parts?
well there's a ice storm here and salt/sand trucks everywhere...what do you guys recommend to clean off parts like exhaust and suspension related parts covered in salt/sand? just wipe them down with a wet rag? wd40?
Gas station car wash, most of em here in KS have an underbody cleaning right b4 u drive into the wash, then maybe a spray and wipedown your self also
My car is pretty low but I just use a spray water bottle with hot water + meguiars car soap and it eats through the dirt and grime like nothing. I just spray behind the rear fenders and anywhere else that needs a good cleaning. I don't go to car washes because I daily drive my car and it would really suck if my doors got frozen and I was stranded somewhere.

The under body spray is a good start. After that I still go in and clean everything....most important... I remove...clean.. and reinstall the little rubber strip inside the fender. I scrub and clean anything I can reach with basic cleaner and any brush and sponge . I also try and wipe everything down I also go back and add paint to all that was clean to help protect it.
