Default High 14s ep3

With the a3 whats needed?

I already have injen cai, esmm, megan midpipe, dcrh, and am getting some new khumos in a few weeks. I really want to break 14's, I would be content with that and can concentrate on school and saving for a swap I was thinking of getting my tb maxbored, and possible kpro reflash, thoughts?

On a side note, i have the older injen cai, 2.5" I belieave, I know a lot of newer intakes have a 3" diamiter. Would it make much of a difference if i upgraded?

Hopefully I am not setting my goal too high with the a3. For refrence of my driving ability i ran a 16.0 @ 87 with 60's between 2.3 and 2.4. I think breaking into the 14s will mostly be a matter of how well i can drive the car.

1. You need seat time... the more the merrier!!!!!!!

2. You need lighten up your car... take everything out... rear seats, spare tire, jack... everything that can be taken out easily!

3. Do you have a reflash or KPRO? Cause if you have KPRO get your *** to the dyno and get it tuned so you can get the max amount of power out of the A3. Maybe throw in some cams while your at it!

4. Get really good sticky tires! You said Kumhos... if it ain't the MX you need to step it up.

5. Light weight wheels... weight is your worsed enemy!!!

6. If you still can't break in to the 14's get your *** to the gym and loose a couple of pounds!!!

lol

Haha thanks. I do not have any form of kpro. I guess ill start looking for a used reflash! Funds are tight so ill be putting khumo mx's on the stock 16" wheels I will have the car fully stripped come track day. And with test and tune days running only 15 bucks for the whole day you can bet ill have me some seat time! Thanks for your input

I've seen people run high 14s with just bolt ons and tires... Just get good at launching and driving.

Thanks. Yeah i think road and track tested the car at 15.8. The 16.0 was my first run ever on the drag strip, deffinatly room for improvement. Ive hered that the RBC on the a3 isnt a good idea because the a3 head doesn't flow well enough for the RBC mani to net any gains. Any thoughts on having the tb maxbored, and the 2.5" vs 3" intake tube? Thanks guys!

Thats good to hear, fits my budget a bit better haha. While were sorta talking tires, what would you recommend other than the Khumo ecsta mx in 205/55/16?

I ran 15.7 bone stock with illegally bald tires haha. I've seen EP's run high 14's with I/H/E and a re-flash.

With the mods right now you should be hitting mid to low 15's.

Trust me, get K-pro and drive better should put you in mid to high 14's.

A buddie of mine who have the same mods like you except the megan midpipe ran 15.1

I was just talking to a friend of mine and his best time with I/RH/E and K-Pro was 14.7 with some good street tires. Sounds good to me and I'm in WA and the conditions aren't that good for Drag Racing.

For almost $2k worth of parts, 14 seconds is still slow in the world of import drag racing.

just my worthless .02, but whatever makes you happy.

Actually, if I bought K-pro it would put me at around $1300, but I see what you're talking about.
