Default Warm weather projects?!?

Knowing that most of the nation is in a "deep freeze", what are some things you're gonna do to your ride as soon as it warms up a little?

For me:

Fix my timing
Make a dumptube
Install a new driver's side knuckle/hub assembly
Remove fender lining
Install new bumper

Gotta get my car back to DD status...

im taking my motor out and doing a complete re-build. I have a pretty decent worked B16. Planning on working over 200+hp all motor.

-black all interior panels (dash, pillars, door sills, console, etc.)
-RSX Steering Wheel
-Ala contara black headliner
-I would LOVE ITR front seats (pondering the idea of wrapping my Si front and backs in black with red stitch by pro upholstery company (local friend)
-Volk TE-37 reps in Time attack colors
-Some sort of upgrade for my suspension

Thanks...

It's been a long process, but I finally got everything together. It's all about collecting and planning.

This project has been great. I am looking forward to the engine swap.

I'll be replacing all of my interior with newer, cleaner stuff and fixing up and tightening loose/missing bolts on the inside. The dude I bought my car from right before the cold started swapped in an interior from an EG (mine's an EJ1), but failed to actually bolt anything down. It's all held in place, but it rattles like a mother and doesn't feel too secure.

I'll be buying a new exhaust and building up my little single cam Z6 for turbo hopefully, looking to try 250-300whp.

Then I'll be replacing any panels on the outside that are dented or less than clean, and fixing up all the minor cosmetic stuff and getting her repainted.

Lots of stuff to do, hurry up and get here summer!

LOL.... The hood and roof are getting painted also. The owner I bought it from had a flat black hood. It will likely get a JDM hood painted to factory color. I may consider CF, but we will see.

As far as handling, I also have front and rear Eibach sway bars. It's not in the picture, but I have all new moog tie rods and ball joints as well. After converting my power steering to manual and adding my Grant wheel, it's been begging for a the suspension and brakes. My goal has been to build a reliable DD with occasional track capabilities. I plan to take it to Thunderbolt Raceway in south Jersey this year..... Should be fun.

I decided to go LS Turbo based on the cost. My original plan was a Supercharged GSR swap, but the cost just doesn't justify the power. The only up side is reliability, but I can build a reliable turbo setup also. LS motors are cheap and easy. Once the swap is finished and the turbo setup is complete, I will always keep a spare LS engine......stock them like cord wood...

I guess it;s just people in kentucky.... We are still backwards around here..lol... but i always do my major projects in the winter time...... get ready for Autocross and keep the downtime when the weather is warm to a min.......

currently the motor and trans are out of the car........ i am cleaning up the engine bay a bit...no wire tuck... its a DD so i am just focusing on power and handling... i am not one for cosmetic bueaty... but i do like yalls rides..... alot of them look clean.... other than the one from star wars up there.....ha.....

engine is being rebuilt for LS turbo... stock bottom end and nicer cams and valve springs up top...3 angle valve job. plan on running 7psi all day long.... something that is real reliable....

replaced all the ball joints and bushings thru out the suspension.. new tie rod ends (did this early in jan)

other plans are waiting for parts and the motor to get back and the most important part, THE TUNE...... so i hope in about 2 weeks she see's the rode agian... aslong as the ice is gone by then...

kev

i took about 2 days of working on it after i got of work.... so prob 6 hours doing it on the ground...... and i had an OTC ball joint press witch helped out... only thing i had to do was take the trailing arms off and take them to my buddy at honda to press new trailing arm bushings in for me... since they are a **** to press back in without damaging them....

not bad and well worth it.... it drove like a new car compared to what it was before..... steering was tight and driving at highway speeds were so much smoother beside's the high spring rate i run.. lol...

oh yeah get an alignment right after you replace all that stuff..... or you'll tear tires up quick
