Icon3 Blinking Oil Light

When I go on long drives especially through traffic, my oil light starts to blink. But the oil level os full... what can cause this?

Also I see alot of oil around the vtec controller, does it have an o-ring inside that migh needs to be replaced?

thanks

Q1)
Low oil pressure. Either from:
Worn Oil Pump (hardly ever)
Worn Engine Bearings (would have associated noises)
Impact damage to the bottom of the Oil Pan
Sludge buildup around oil pickup.

Q2
Appears to be a few

you mean vtec solenoid, there is a little mesh/net thing in there that can be cleaned.

the engine sounds quiet, no unusual noises

the oil pan is flattened (i guess this was caused by the previous owner who had the car excessively low)

the oil light starts to come on after driving in traffic first only during idle, so when you rev it goes away, but after a while it starts blinking... even while accelerating

well, the flattened oil pan could be causing problems with the oil pickup, also your oil pressure sensor could be going bad. if you have access, hook up an oil pressure gauge and see what ur pressures are at...if the pressure is fine, its probably a problem with the pressure sensor.

the sensor is on the back of the block, usually diagonally up and to the left of the oil filter....its usually within a couple inches of the oil filter...to hook up a gauge, you will probably have to remove the sensor and put in a manual gauge. but check the wires/connector going to the stock sensor.
