Default TW: '96 Black EK HB

PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE COMMENTING. YES I MEAN THESE 3 PARAGRAPHS RIGHT BELOW THIS.

I think its time that I try and sell my EK. I really really don't want to but I got laid off a couple of months back and I'd rather pay off my credit cards in full so I don't have to worry about if I'll have enough money each month to make payments. I just decided to make this post and see if there's even a market out there for my car, seeing as how the economy is sh*t and no one is really spending money.

I bought the car from my old work, McGrath City Hyundai, back in 04/16/08. It came in on a trade-in because the automatic trans had no 1st gear. Over the year I've done some mods to give it a little more "luxurious" feel; power windows, power mirrors, power locks, factory Honda keyless entry & a navigation system. My plans for this car was to build it to be a 12-13 second car but keep all my creature comforts so I could long-drive it to where ever I wanted but unfortunately plans have changed so here's ALL the info on the car that I can think of. I'm trying to be as honest with the car just because if I was buying a car I'd want the same in return.

The car is still an automatic right now but I'm waiting for a local HT'er so i can pick up his trans, flywheel & clutch. Once I convert the car to a 5 speed it will be officially for sale. Right now the car has a check engine light on for the primary O2 sensor & a couple for the automatic trans. The O2 sensor will be replaced from Honda since it has the Emission Warranty Extension (thank you Honda) and it should come with new spark plugs, wires, cap & rotor from Honda as well. Basically when the car is ready to be sold there will be no problems with the car.

1996 Honda Civic DX Hatchback
- black exterior
- grey interior
- clean & clear title, never salvaged or rebuilt
- I'm the 2nd or 3rd owner, Ill have to look for the Carfax I got when I bought it

ENGINE
- stock D16Y7
- power steering
- air conditioning *works perfect*
- 138K miles

TRANSMISSION
- z6 trans
- stock flywheel
- ACT stage 2 clutch

BODY
- Brand new windshield from Aaron Auto Glass 0/26/08
¤ there was a small chip in the windshield when I bought the car and it grew into a crack once it started getting cold
- CTR replica grill
- rear wiper doesn't work but removed rear wiper arm
¤ can buy an OE Honda plug to fill in the hole if you want to take out the wiper motor
-factory Honda keyless entry with remote

INTERIOR
- armest (from an EX)
- power windows (from an EX)
- power locks (from an EX)
- power mirrors (from an EX)
- 5spd EX gauge cluster
¤ adjusted miles to match the body
- aftermarket sunroof (came with the car)
- 1999-2000 climate control swap
- Kenwood DNX5120 navigation
¤ Best Buy warranty for another 2-3 years. i just bought it back in June '08
¤ touchscreen
¤ plays dvd's, USB flash sticks (MPEG1 & MPEG2) & iPOD ready
¤ Garmin navigation (the best navi company in my opinion)

SUSPENSION & BRAKES
- knuckle from a 2000 EX
¤ 10.3" rotor & calipers
¤ can bolt on SI / Integra calipers
- stock rear drums

WHEELS
- 2 GSR fat fives on the passenger side
- 2 LS meshes on the drivers side
- tires are Nokian 195/60/15
¤ tire tread is low and i haven't driven them with snow on the roads but they can get you in & out of street parking with snow on it

THE "BAD"
- 4 rear lower control arm bushing are frozen to the bolts, but if the buyer pays for the bolts (about $20 from Honda) I'll chop off the old bolts and pop in the new ones so if you ever want to change the suspension you'll have no problems with the bolts
- the reason why I have 2 different sets of wheels is I sold all rims because I needed money and all I had left to use was 2 fat fives & 2 meshes
- the hood's clear coat (I think) is cracking because it looks like there are chicken feet scratches on it but its not horrible
- the front bumper has a scrape on the left side
- the car has several dings & small dents
- there's a key mark on the left rear quarter panel, its not down to the paint but its there. I bought the car like that
- the driver's side inner door handle cover is missing, i should be able to get one from an EX/SI

The paint is still very clean and the car has a nice shine to it. It was waxed with Meguiars 3 stage a couple of months ago and it still shines. You'll see in the pics tomorrow

Some people may think that I'm asking a lot for a SOHC EK but this car has been well taken care of, hasn't been hacked up and has some tasteful mods that takes a lot of time & effort to do right. Its rare to find clean EK's with air conditioning & power steering anymore so I feel my price is fair. This car would be a perfect daily driver or something to build up into a track monster. Please no hating in this thread but constructive criticism is definitely welcome.

Trades for other Honda's are welcome BUT they must be some-what clean (no rust buckets) and id need at least $2k on your half. No straight up trades, Im only selling this because I need money. Post up pics & links to your car you want to trade

------------------------NEW PRICE $4900
*LOWBALLERS BE GONE!*

to everyone else i appreciate your input. ill think about adjusting the price but the Kenwood Navigation was $999.99 + $100-$200 for the 3 year Best Buy insurance. power windows, power locks & power mirrors conversion parts go for $200-$300. 99-00 dash conversion is another $200-$300. if it doesnt sell ill just keep the car

thanks turbodelsol95, i took a lot of time to write up that post to cover everything about the car and it irritates me when people just skim through it and accuse me trying to scam someone

TO EVERYONE

i understand my price is a little high, but this car is for a certain type of EK owner. if your looking for an EK that you

- can drive with the windows up on those hot summer with the AC blasting, keeping you & your date sweat & stank free
- never worry about swerving while your driving because you have to reach over to the passenger side to lower/raise the window. i hated doing this in my other cars
- parallel park in the city every single day and want to put the least amount of energy into it as you can
- are like me and suck at directions, never worry about being lost because you have a navi. and you hate the portable ones you stick on your windshield because they stick out like a sore thumb
- like to watch videos while your driving or just burn some time while your waiting in your car

then is this for you BUT if your looking for an EK you can drop a motor in & gut out so you can tear up the track then this is DEFINATELY not for you. i put together this car just the way i wanted it and hopefully someone out there will appreciate all the the little things i did to make it a more "comfortable" ride.

please keep the hating out. i appreciate everyone who told me my price was too high AND told me how much they bought their EK for. that kind of criticism is helpful, i take that info into consideration when i think about adjusting my price. thanks

i think you should learn how to read first before you go accusing me of some dumb sh*t. that quote was in the 3rd paragraph in the first post. its ALWAYS been there. the reason why i edited my original post was to change my price from $5500 to $4900.

i cant believe your accusing me of the dumbest scam. how could you scam someone into buying an automatic car but claim its a 5 speed? dont you think potential buyers would notice it doesnt have a clutch pedal or a shifter? theyd have to be a complete moron like yourself to not catch that. i been here since f*cking '03 and i never scammed anyone, so get the f*ck out of my thread.
