Default Deal's Gap / Tail of the Dragon April 2009

Just as last year, this event will be taking place the first weekend of April, I will be updating this post with more information as I organize it. Such as; hotel accommodations, event plans, and itinerary.

Last year we had a decent turnout, and had a good amount of fun. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Alcoa, about 10-15 minutes from the Dragon. Most likely we will be staying there again.

There was plenty of room at the Fontana Dam for parking etc., so most likely we will be hanging out there. Last year the resort was packed due to the Rotary Rally taking place at the same time.

Like I said more info to come, this is just a heads up.

I stay in the smoky mountain cabins in townsend... had a nice little drive over to the dragon via a connecting road, Foothills parkway, that joins just above the damn. you guys should look into that

The cabins are great... very luxurious and sleeps as many as you can squeeze in. I had one with the lil lady and the dog... three stories tall, 3 bedrooms and a game room, it could have slept maybe 15 poeple. 100 per night

tail of the dragon really sucks. i could lead a group thru some other WNC roads that are a whole hell of alot less crowded, and twice as fun.
