Default Is a hot side of turbine weldable?

I've been fighting with exhaust leaks for almost a year. I'm really fed up with this. I plan to weld the exhaust side to the SS flange (this junction doesn't work now- seals, exhaust cement, decked flange- not working here) and then weld a V-band to make a connection with the rest of the downpipe.

Is it possible to weld the hot side to stainless steel? The turbo is IHI/BorgWarner RHB6 (I believe)
Thanks

chances are even if u preheat the **** outta it, and peen it while u weld it.

its going to crack because the expansion differentials are so great between those 2 products..

why cant u just pull the manifold off, and have the flange machined flat again.

Yes they can be welded if you are welding a cast iron turbo housing you have to use ni55 or ni99 filler rod. if its cast steel then just use ss308 filler rod

a compressor IS NOT A TURBINE.

look at my pic the TURBINE OR HOT SIDE has a WG flange welded to it.

^^^This is what I'd like to accomplish at the end more less. But the V-band won't be welded directly to the turbine but to the flange and then the flange to the turbine.

Just weld the Vband on, why so much extra work?

The turbine had internal WG before so the shape is not round. Thats why flange-> V-band solution.

bolt 2 flanges together tightly as possible, leave bolted then run a butt all the way around where the 2 flanges meet?
