Default looking for a tuner.. Indiana Area. Neptune or Hondata

im having trouble finding a reputable tuner. Now that Superdave left the whipfactory im not really sure who to go to for great tuning. Evans tuning is like a 15 hour drive not sure if i can get my work schedule loose enough for that. I know Dave Blundell use to be tuning down around cincinatti but havent heard or seen him on a board in forever.

I need Dyno tuned. I dont want one of the those guys that just street tune and guess everythings alright (Wont name any names). i can travel tri state area. michigan/Illinois/Ohio and of course indiana.

i still find it hard to believe there are no honda tuners in Indy.... i have probably gotten 15 calls in the last year of people seeing if i would travel there and tune a group of cars.

the only person i know there that can do hondata stuff is Jim @ Stewart Engines.....but im pretty sure he only tunes cars he builds the motors for, i could be wrong though. could be worth giving him a call. www.stewartengines.com

paying somebody to come to you only seems to be worth while if you can line up a few cars to split up all of the costs.

Are you set on running hondata or neptune? I would go the eCtune route personally.

If your looking for just a burn on a chip type tune, Mikey at Pro Function in Chicago can hook you up with an eCtune tune on his dyno since he is an authorized dealer.

If you end up going with your own setup (license, ostrich, hulog) so you can make you own basic changes without having to travel to the tuner, I can take care of your tune no problem.

Just pick a dyno location of your choice and set a date and we can work something out.

Im not sure if you were referring to me as "one of the those guys that just street tune and guess everythings alright" but many of the cars I tune see the dyno. Its just that most people Honda guys in the Indiana/Michigan area are too damn cheap to pay for the extra time tuning plus dyno time.

Whats your setup?

None taken, just making sure it was clear that I do (and enjoy) dyno time. I dont know if you remember talking to me via pm awhile back, but Im up in your area from time to time (know quite a few people from there) and am in the West Lafayette area the rest of the time. Let me know if you need anything.

There's a lack of tuners here in Indy because there is no market for these types of cars. Most of the guys I know with fast cars do all their own tuning. All the Honda guys want free tuning with Crome.

I would get in touch with Demaree if I was you. Like Joe Simpson said, Jim Stewart tunes only motors he builds because of the liability. He doesn't want some hack tuning a motor he put together, and he doesn't want to tune a motor some hack put together. Makes sense to me!

Illinois just sucks when it comes to a good reliable tuner. Wish I lived on the coast.

There are plenty of good places to get tuned in Illinois if you looking to run a nicer ems. if you want to use crome, not too much to chose from.
