I need Dyno tuned. I dont want one of the those guys that just street tune and guess everythings alright (Wont name any names). i can travel tri state area. michigan/Illinois/Ohio and of course indiana.
Call Mikey @ Pro Function, hes tuned a few higher hp cars. got mine to 630whp just on 23lbs safely. tuned all my previous cars.. good pricing too. i remember multiple dyno sessions ending at like 6am.. basically always helped me out. (not for sure but i think he will tune at the track too) *imo, you want someone who has experience tuning more than just 300hp setups.

What about AMS? One of the best street Hondas I ever drove was tuned by them.

If you have a real EMS and not these reflash thingys, there are good tuners everywhere.

My friend had his DSM tuned by AMS.. and my experience with those guys they were just ****in ****** to him. they rushed him in and off the dyno and said thats all they could get out of the motor. it wasnt even 1/2 hour after he was done they had there shop car on the dyno. very pushy and there Ego's are too big.

I have had friends with similar experiences in their EVOs, and one in particular who lost a couple of their stroker motors in a period of 4K miles just driving around like the 56 year old man he is...not even hitting the gas. He dropped $76,000 in their shop on that car and they shafted him. But hey....100mm stroke in a 9 inch deck for a street driven turbo car...retarded.

Yeah had a friend go there too, like you said very pushy and big egos. I wouldnt want be around a bunch of guys who dont give a **** and want your car off the dyno asap. Not knocking them, just think they need to stop thinking they are on top of the world.

You really shouldnt have a problem finding a tuner in the Chicago area then. Almost every shop up there with a dyno tunes AEM.

Anybody out here with a dyno can call themselves a tuner lol. Like I said, I have a problem finding a good and reliable one. Somone who will actually take the time out to explain everything and make sure everything is good. Not someone whos gonna charge for a crappy tune and rush me off the dyno. Gonna try at least 2 new tuners this year and see how it goes.

Well I would start with Mikey at Profunction then. From the bit ive talked to him he seemed like a good guy.

He also tunes my buddy TallKyle's car. Kyle has had a lot of people tune his cars and after every one he always ended up calling me trying to get me to come up from school to tune him, since he was dissatisfied with the tune. Mikey is the first tuner he has had that he hasnt called me in disappointment.

He was also willing to open the shop up once for me at 2 am to dyno a car that had to be on a trailer to a rally the next day.

Yeah, keep an eye out for that. We are starting to see a handful of that going on around Chicago. Owning a dyno is one thing, knowing how to properly use it is another.

Thanks for the kind words fella's. I appreciate it.

Profunction --- talk to mikey he will get you sorted out.

on the corner of i55 and 294 in chicagoland.

he made my car work on big injectors and made big power when everyone else told me to get a new car. i would highly recommend him.

i know this is an older thread, and i am a mazda owner, but i was wondering the same for my scenario. would joe be able to tune my 2002 mazda protege 5 with a haltech e6x? i did a ton of work to my car and never trust just anyone touching it. it sounds like he has a ton of happy customers. nice to know there are still professionals out there, just wondering if there are any that would be willing to let me hire them????? thanks guys, brian

Bumping this because I have an h22 with S300 I'd like to get dyno tuned in the spring/summer. From Indy but would be willing to go to Chicago or Cinci, etc for a good tuner.
