The Clutch Master Cylinder is always the prime candidate for this complaint.
Everyone forgets to flush the hydralic fluid, much like they forget to flush the brake fluid.
They act all surprised when either gives out from internal corrosion.
The leak can often be spotted (If you're lucky) by the telltale trail of desolved paint trailing down the firewall, directly under the Clutch Master Cylinder.

The power steering noise is unrelated to the clutch failure but is similar by cause.
The fluid has never been changed and has oxidized.
The whinning noise you're getting from the steering column is caused by the pump cavitating. This can be caused by either a low fluid level condition or a restricted filter in the base of the power steering reservoir.

An audible screeching can be caused by a loose Power Steering Drive Belt. It can sometimes cause a chattering effect as the steering wheel is turned.

Clutch master for sure. been there, done that. Also, the one on your tranny is the clutch slave Cyl, the master is like P said on your firewall, next to the brake booster

..and fix that PS pump or you WILL start having a problem with the ps rack, it doesn't like to be dry...

same thing happened to me with my slave cylinder....drove 150mi on the freeway, go to downshift on the exit ramp and all the sudden i dont have a clutch. pull back the boot to be sure....should have fluid if its bad. its a cheap fix, only cost me 30 bux, but it will definitely ruin your day if you are out of town.
