I just drilled a small hole through the back of the driver side wheel well and plugged it with some putty or some sort. that ran the wire directly into the dash opening i used

The second picture in that DIY shows the location of a grommet on the driver's side of your car.

Since the camera is at a weird angle, the arrow in the picture is pointing toward the floor, just to help you establish location. Remove the grommet, cut an "X" in it with a knife, push the wires through the grommet, then into the hole the grommet was in. It's a pain in the ***, but to help you see where the wires should come out, follow the hood latch release cable. It goes through a grommet right near this one, and you can open your hood and see where it comes out.

the harness for the foglights is between the washer fluid reservoir on the right side of the car. and it runs into the steering column. thats how you get by the firewall for those that dont know.

hook the fog lights up to the harness in the engine bay, and then plug to the fog light switch in using the fuse panels located underneath the steering wheel. no need to drill into the firewall

You ground it here:

Blue female plug goes here:

Your fogs are pre-wired. There is a female brown plug under the dash. Blue arrow shows it.

to make things even easier, buy the oem turn signal stalk with the foglight switch built in. its only 30 dollars and it makes things look alot nicer since its oem and easier since the stalk is made for the harness

Was it the 07's that had the fog light switch separate from the turn stalk (next the the VSA off)?

I want to wire my fogs to come on with the parking lights when driving, could you do that with the fog switch/sleeve on the stalk? (Kind of off topic)
