Icon2 Distributor Question????

I went and bought a clear distributor cap for my 89 crx si, the motor has been swapped to a D16Z6 and i bought the distributor for the Z6 and when i got home and looked at it it doesnt bolt up the same the one i bought has two holes at the top and one at the bottom, as were the distributor on my Z6 has one on top, one on the sides and one on bottom. After looking for a little while i found that the one on my motor is from the A6 that comes in the Si crx's, i looked at the wiring diagrams and didnt notice any differences but im not to good with diagrams, why would they put the A6 distributor on the Z6 motor. Thanks for your time.
