just got a 4dr eg with an ls swap. third gear is grinding, at first i could ease or slam it in, now it won't catch at all. is that the syncros if so what is the best option rebuild, new/used, or diy? i've never messed with a tranny except pulling it off and putting it back on. just need a little help.

Anyways, the cheapest option would be a do-it-yourself rebuild. But this may not be the best option if you have little to no experience with transmissions. Paying a transmission shop to rebuild it for you is probably the most expensive option. You may want to look into a used tranny in the h-t marketplace forums, your local car forums, junkyards, and classifieds, or a JDM importer.
