Default buying a new car

Hey im looking to buy an 02 rsx type s and had some questions. I am not that smart when it comes to performance mods on cars. This car has a turbo in it already (not sure anything about it only drove it for 5 mins) 53k miles and $11995 before talking down any.

what do i have to watch out for with this turbo? If the engine internals are all stock, can the k20a2 handle the turbo without a problem? also when and if i do get this car what are some first mods i should do first for performance?

ha that all depends on the guy who built it and how he did it. If its a cheap crap turbo we don't know. If he beat the hell out of it we don;t know. If he cranked the boost we don't know. No one can answer a question like that. Ask him to do a compression test on it and let me know the results. That way you can make sure the engine still has life.

personally I hate buying already modded cars because you can't trust them... no offense to the seller or builder.. I would just not rather take the chance.. but I bet it hauls *****!

yeah it is fast and i dont really make much money to buy 3000 dollar turbo to put one in thats why i wanted this one, but since they sent it to the shop the day i was supposed to it scares me.. needed a new clutch also at 53000miles

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/in...lASC&cardist=0

they dont say a thing about the turbo in the list or in person either

well stock clutches for sure can't hold up to boost... the engine will hold up as long as the tune is good.... so again can't give you a solid answer about the engine holding up, but it should be fine.

I agree with Type-'S'paz its hard to tell but like he said a compression test will be able to point us in the right direction... this is why I kinda of prefer to buy something stock!

I personally would never ever ever ver buy a turbo'd car (unless its was factory) from a previous owner unless I knew that owner and the shop who tuned it. Even then, it was turbocharged to go faster, so it was most likely beat on. But considering it only has 53k on it, it' not too bad of a deal.

That's why my friend kept every little receipt and stuff from his turbo D16 build. He can show interested buyer every little part that went into it. Where it was tuned, etc.

i wouldn't ever buy a boosted car from someone if i didn't know who built the car and who tuned it. how the person drives their car also plays a very large role in my decision making.

since you don't know the guy, i would advise strongly against buying that car.

I dont think you are ready to own this car. Ask this question in the forced induction forum of Honda Tech. A lot of the members in this one like to think they know about forced induction and will give you false information.

It makes a difference to your insurance company and if you buy a salvage title plan on never getting rid of the car. I wouldn't do it. The RSX or any other car isn't worth the salvage hassle.

im shure u can sell the k20 for that prose and part out the holle car for way more...?
All the cars we drive are all salvage. Just depends how you fix them. Do a shity job and the outcome is ****.
