I I bought my ek coupe a few months back for a pretty good price. Ive put about 13k miles on it in the last 8 months and the transmission has started to whine every once In a while. So i knew i was going to need a new tranny since it grinds a bit in second and whines sometimes I was assuming my syncros were going out but didnt care i thought I had a few months. So i was driving to get some food and I was messing around with my friend for second showing him how a car jerks when your new to driving stick. (you know the rock and jolt type action) literally one jolt and my engine just revs up and It sounds like my flywheel flew out from my car. so I thought **** it must of popped out of gear nope! I dont have any gears now? is my tranny shot? my clutch? linkage? or all of the above. If its the tranny can I use a 92-95 hydro hmotors carries them for 250 and Ive gone threw them before. thanks for you input

 

you can use any 92-00 d-series trans
i wouldnt count your clutch out pull it and see what happened

 

Im getting it towed home tomorrow or sunday. It sucks cuz money is a bit tight right now but I think im just going to spring the extra cash and get a newer transmission, exedy clutch and a light flywheel even though I dont need a light flywheel.

 

If the shifter feels fine its probably not the linkage and i doubt its the clutch, sounds like the tranny. Check the axles first though

 

hhhmmm good idea didnt think about the axles. I dont really think its them but Ill check them out when the car gets here today.

 

I was reading up on clutches for the different years and it says the 92-95 can use a 200mm or 212 mm disk, and I was going to buy a clutch kit that has a 210mm disk. does it matter?
