not even, boost it stock, on 7 psi... with a good tune, you should have about 200wheel if not more

but you can only run 10 psi MAX on stock internals.
might as well spend a little more and have a better running engine with better compression and a LOWER risk of busting a rod

you shouldnt have a problemt with the bolts, if you get ARP bolts

but as i said, its better to spend a little more for the ups on internals than later on spending more on a new motor.
hell if a rod blows, it might blow a hole through the cylinder

theres really not much you can do.....advance timing....you cant do much without effective the gas milage on a SOHC......thats what boost is for

yea. you cant really get real power of a SOHC D series without boost.
you can try. but your gonna need

performance: pistons, rods, cam gears, cam shaft, bored out cylinder(which intern leads to bigger pistions, bigger injectors... hmmmm. what else other than boost?

ive seen rides getting 140+whp and pullin decent gas mileage still. one guy was getting, if i recall, 31mpg mixed

just get some high comp pistons and a good tune, a better cam, aem full cai(my favorite period) and a good exhaust system. done right you could see 150 to the wheels maybe more which would be a nice bump from the stock 105-110whp. or mill the head and block as much as you can safely, do the boltons, and get a better cam maybe, and get a good tune. less power, but you probably would see good fuel economy still. use the zealworks calculator and mix and match parts to get some specs to shoot for.
