94-95 need one sensor at the header.
96 up has one sensor at the header and then one at the cat.

At least that is what the tech at the muffler shop said.

they manufacture both bolt on and the one without flanges. shops usually carry the nonflanged ones and they usually weld it on. they can always weld on flanges for you too.

my high flow cat and my through pipe both have sensors.
depends what company. on my new 4'' through pipe i had to drill and weld a bung on...its pretty easy. either way you should have one if you need to pass emissions.

Lots of hi-flow cats won't even pass emissions so if you gotta smog stick with stock.

SMSP can provide you with a cat that will bolt right on, and include all necessary hardware and O2 bung(s). No welding or guesswork involved.

I guess it depends on what brand you buy. My dad works at a smog shop and they fail all the time plus how much power do you really get out of it... like 2-3 hp. He also said starting next year they will no longer sell aftermarket cats for any car, at least in California, and if the smog shop sees an aftermarket cat they automatically fail. It might work if it has C.A.R.B. certification, but I'm not sure what's the deal with it or if they even have any that have passed the Board yet. They are getting stricter and stricter because the air is getting worse and worse. Like the new evap charcoal canister tests on 96 and under cars. They are also gonna start doing a visual for smoke. Even if the car passes and it smokes from burnt valve seals or anything it'll automatically fail. The state sends inspectors all the time and tells them about the new stuff that's coming out and the new equipment they need to buy to test and all that. They are trying to get all the gross polluters of the road.
