Hey guys, Im new to the forum.
My names alex, if you couldnt tell from my
user name, Want to get this out there im not good with car parts, stuff like that, but I do love cars.. I just recently turned 16 years of age
and now Just got my car tuesday, In Chicago.
Its a 2003 Accord lx grayish-blue not sure the technical name for it
but I LOVE it, We got it for a really good price 4,900.
yeah there is 140,000 miles on it but im really not worried becuase
it drives and shifts outstanding. But heres the problem

The Key remote, can unlock the doors when im outside of the car and getting into it, but when I leave my car, the Lock on the remote AND
the lock on the door dont work. so I have to manually lock all the doors,
which I mean isnt a HUGE deal for me, but certainlly would be less of a hassle to get it fixed. my question is what is the problem, can it be fixed, and if so roughly how much would it cost. thanks so much for your help

Have you tried the other remote if you have it, or changing the battery (I believe it uses battery number CR1616)?

 

well I just bought the car 4 days ago, and the
seller is shipping the spare key to me becuase it
was at his sisters.. when it gets in Ill try it.

and he said he recently changed the battery.

 

Im having the Same exact problem. The lock button in the car won't even lock it. Im guessing its some kind of mechanism or motor that's broken. I'm taking it this week to Honda to get it fixed I'll let you know how much it comes out to and what the problem is.

It was the actuator.. I have a warranty so not sure on price or labor.
