so i walked into a local racing shop here in los angeles, name of shop use to be vip motoring. they recently changed it. well there they have a minty fresh eg coupe, the car is just sitting in the showroom. suppose to be some race car in japan. but to the point, i was looking at the interior and to my surprise the whole dashboard was different, aside from some cf parts, it was an rsx dashboard, man did it look GOOD!!!! i asked the guy how much did that cost? where did he get it done? all he said was it is a lot and is custom, no **** it is. i was wondering if anyone had seen this before, and where i can get it done myself ? also what parts would i need to get aside form the dashboard?

 

Ive seen it before, I think there was an old Import Tuner a few years ago that had a hatch with an RSX Dash in it. Price all depends on how well you are with working with it, and how much you can get a dash for. I doubt Ill be able to find any, but Ill search I-T's archives and see if I find any pics. It was either Import Tuner or Super Street, one of those two.

 

i know a friend of mine put a rsx dash in a crx. it looked insane. it actually went in their with little modification. he didnt have to cut much off to make it fit. not real sure what all parts were needed, because he had a wrecked rsx, so he had everything he needed, plus he was doing a k-swap anyways.

 

i was thinking if i were to come up on the dashboard, would the cluster and everything be a able to plug right in?

 

Highly doubtful. I'm sure there would be quite a bit of wiring modification needed in order for everything to work.

 

I'm actually about to take this task on in my '92 EG sedan. However, I already have an '05 RSX-S cluster that I was running in the EG dash so that will be easy. Also, I have a K swap so all the wiring and whatnot is done so I'm looking to get a black RSX-S dash to match my interior and hope for the best and that it takes little modification and all goes well.

 

If you plan on using the RSX cluster and Climate controls, plan on doing all of the wiring for that stuff too. You could either A: Make a cluster housing so you can bolt in your original EG cluster into the RSX dash or B: Like said already, re-wire RSX plugs into your EG harness so they will plug into the RSX counterparts.

Alot of work, but could be done tastefully and look alright.

It looks like the passenger airbag was removed since there was a hole in the dash. The guys in the video could at least turn on the domelight for more visibility.

what did vip motoring change into? i've seen an ek with an rsx dash + two front seats . looks very clean. and for finding rsx's dashes i remember seeing a few on clubrsx.com im sure you can find one within a day or so. also i've seen an ek with a k20a off an 06 type s. looks clean as ****kkkkkk

 

vip changed names, its in the same location, same people work there, its just remodoled and has a new name
