Airbag Removal
How hard is it to completely remove the driver's and passenger's airbags in a 98 Integra? I am considering buying the Momo Jet Steering Wheel and I wanna sell the air bag kit as a whole.. any info on how to do it and how hard it is? I want everything intact of course.. Thanks!
i wouldn't sell the airbags if i were you. when it comes time to sell the car you're going to wish you still had them, because it'll decrease the value of your car and make it a lot harder to sell.
sorry i don't have instructions, but i've watched my friend remove some airbags on a 00 civic and it wasn't too hard. first of course you need to disconnect the battery so the airbags don't go off in the middle of the project. then you just kinda gotta look yourself what needs to be removed. i know that the cruise control buttons on the wheel need to be removed first, but from then on just look yourself what you need to do next. i'd remove the passenger airbag too, if you're taking off the driver's, because if one airbag is gone the other one won't deploy in a crash anyway, and it'll same more weight. get a airbag cover from a canadian integra rs (do a search on the itr board, a couple people on there bought the covers) instead. anyway, you'll need to remove the glove box first, and from then just see what screws need to be taken out next. after they're removed the srs light is gonna go on, the only way you can make it go off is to take the srs fuse out.
