Default 2005 Honda Odyssey MANUAL or MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE

Hi Guys

I've searched the site and done some extensive "googling", but to no avail. I am in the market for a minivan and have found a nice 2005 Honda Odyssey EX-L RES and am looking to verify that all maintenance has been done.

Anyone have a link or can send me a copy of the maintenance schedule or the manual?

Thanks in advance.

An 05 Odyssey is equipped with a maintenance minder system that calculates oil life and services needed. The best way to know is to find the service history from where the van was serviced.
Unless something is broken there is NO need to do anything other than what the system says.

When buying the van it will be Honda certified and have a list of maintenance done, I just wanted to be properly prepared once I get the list and to know what to look at. I don't want to have the car for a week and realise that the tranny had to have been flushed and wasn't.

Does anyone know if it would be the same for all 3rd generation Odysseys? (I.e. '09 would have the smae maintenance schedule?)

Every Honda 05+ has the same schedule now. The only difference is a 4wd and models with timing belts. Those just add extra service codes.
If you're buying it Honda certified it should have the closest service done within 3K miles.
How many miles are on your van?

It's a Canadian model with 107,000kms or aout 63,000miles. Just out of warranty, but I think when it gets certified they add a 1 year / 120,000km warranty. We drive about 10,000kms per year (not alot).

Does anyone know if the '05s have the "PAX" system and/or TPMS? I've found '09 and '08 manuals online, so I guess they should be close to the '05.

Thanks for the help.

DO NOT BUY THE PAX SYSTEM!!!
In the US 05+ models have TPMS not sure about Canadia, In the US Certified Hondas get a 12 month 12k mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 10 year 100K mile powertrain warranty.

PAX is US Only. Not sure about TPMS, I didn't see it on the dash. I will be seeing the car one last time at the dealer all cleaned up before we sign. As for powertrain I will ask. But I've had Honda's before, and am not worried about the powertrain. With all the bells and whistles that this thing has (power doors, DVD system, etc...) I worried that something electronic will just stop working!

Thanks for all the help.

i use to have the 2005 odyssey, before it got in a car crash. solid car, and no problems at all with the electrical. although the battery did die in my case after usage but it was covered under warranty. i had the maintanence book and stuff in the van, but im sure you can get scans from any later model vehicle.

Make sure about power train warranty as chances are that tranny will need a rebuild about 100K miles. One little weak azz spring goes bad and you have to take apart the entire tranny.

Find a service manual on CL with a nationwide search: http://www.adhuntr.com/. That's how I got mine for $30 including shipping from some guy in NJ.

Might find a paper copy on eBay but, I know they have the manual on disc or download.
