Has anyone here used a SpiralMax or Tornado on their car? For those that don't know, it's a little non-moving fan-looking part you put in your intake to put a swirl on the air entering the throttle body. I'm just wondering what kind of hp increase(if any) and mpg increase would result from putting one(or two) of these on an '89 CRX Si. If any of you have installed it, please post. Before/after dyno numbers would be nice if available. Thanks. PEACE OUT!
Waste of money...
While it MAY actually increase lowend power (minimal gains).. it sacrifices top end, and of course top end is what honda motors crave. Why? If it actually did what it was intended to do, it will swirl the air into the intake manifold and force air into the combustion chamber.. While it may actually do this, it doesnt necessarily mean MORE air is entering the combustion chamber. The unit actually works against itself and RESTRICTS air, SLOWING down the rate of air flow at higher RPM.
Then theres always the issue of it breaking and grenading your motor..
