Default steering conversion

i drove a 98 civic today w/power steering. sweet compared to my 90 crx w/out. im tired of cranking like a madman to steer a pocket size car. the 98 had good road feel. what do i need to swap to power? do i have to replace the rack?

dont do it. you will hate it. i hate anything other than my hatch(manual rack) compared to ALL the other car manufacturers and their power steering. just doesnt feel right. man up and build some biceps and forearms man.

sorry but are you really complaining about no power steering in a crx? at a dead stop it doesn't take really any effort to turn that wheel

don't try it don't think about it...don't be silly

Well for the sake of being that guy that could actually answer his question, if you wanted to do it, (IMO don't!) there were some hatches, I think DX models, that were available with PS. Get the pump, reservoir, hoses, and rack and it should be a complete drop. Although while it is out, I would change the seals and of course, replace all the fluid.

also if your having issues with steering in a crx. Try putting more pressure in your tires. I have steering issues in my rex when my tires are low. 32 psi seems to be a nice easy steering ride.

most likely you car IS harder to turn then others if your having an issue with it. replace tie rods (inner) get some fresh grease in there and definately check tire pressure. After tie rods you will have to get alignment done but well worth it.
