Icon2 MOTOR BUILD. B16 or D16 turbo

ok heres where im at

just bought a ek coupe. its motor doesnt run. either the timing belt is off a bit or the piston rings are blown
either way im looking at an engine build for the d16

here is were i need your help!

i have 2k and want to spend it on the right build

ok i could get a B16 witch is a respectable start without a doubt but its going to be alot of work i will definatly look into running it n/a but i will build the motor.

second option is build the bottom end of my stock motor. new pistons new connecting rods. strong top end with new cam new vualvs new springs. get the cylinders honed and milled. then get a greddy, hks or apexi turbo kit. i could get 300hp out of it hopefully

i just cant decide!!! so i just want to know what you would do if you were me.

thanks for the help!!!

turbo D, if you wanna go all out....you can built it for like 13 psi, or boost the stock block with 8psi, and with a good tune have about 210 wheel

and i think its the timing belt that did it. all my cylinders are running close to the same compression but either way there low! very low. the cylinders are running about 80-60 per cylinder =/ im thinking its got to be they belt if there all running similar compression rates

i would do a build on the bottom block. ACL/Eagle/Vitara. its a cheap build that makes good power on boost. And you can put it on 16PSI from a t3/t4 with no problems, just get it tuned. You will spank B16's all day.

I know a guy that built a turbo's d16a and only put 260whp.. but it was quick.. I like the b16's but you would def be making a lot more power out of a turbo d series...

my bro has a 99civic si wit b16, an i have a 96 civic dx d16y7 turbo. its my daily driver car, i got a t3/t4 turbokit an droped it in wit just a missing link(stock ecu stock injectors stock fuelpump)7psi an its more fun an more torque than the b16. I would go wit d series turbo. I know how it sounds stupid no tune an turbo on a stock car but its been runinnig for 1year an 5months....
