Default Sparco Evo Seat question

I am looking into getting the Evo seats and am wondering it they will go into an eg and still slide. I called sparco and they said i would have to rig something up and that the side mounted seats arent made to join with a slider. If there is nothing i can buy i was thinking about buying the seat and side mount and just getting some steel plate and make it do what i need. I was just tryn to avoid the rig part of the whole thing. Thanks in advance.

What you need is some ghetto rigging under your belt.

"L" shaped brackets should get you on your stock sliders. If you dont wanna do it... ask a friend who likes ghetto rigging

Made out of 6061, 3 X 4 X 1/4" angle aluminum using a drill press and hack saw. Bolted to stock sliders and a Racaro 94 Profiachala SPG. You can do the same with your Sparco!

One of my friends has the sparco evo seat and had the seat mounts welded to the stock rails. Mitch Piper is the name of the guy who welded it. He does awesome custom cage work.

Won't that raise the seat toward the roof?

I'd love to find a Sparco Evo II solution that allowed sliding and lowered the seat.

But, then, I also want world peace.
Depending on what car you do this on it may or may not raise towards the roof, just because every car is different (some my have sunroofs or some cars have stock seat rails that are positioned higher to accommodate short drivers). The picture I listed before is on a 00 type R and the driver is a little over 6 feet tall. He has a full cage with a cross bar running across the inside of his roof. He is able to sit inside the car with a race helmet without a chance of hitting the roof. I also have another friend with a 98 GSR who also has a cage and a sunroof (which lowers the roof line). He got Mitch to weld his Evo on the stock rails and hasn't had any problems. I have some more examples from the type r I can show that may be of help:

can you use sotck seatsbelts (integra) with the evo?

I'd like to get a rollcage in the future and use 4pt or similar......but I don't want to run harnesses until I get a cage.

edit\\\checked out the install from SandM's page....dunno how good it is though (he didn't seem too sure).

The owner of the intergra pictured above uses his stock seat belts. I think integras have the buckel attached somewhere else besides the seat, so it should give you the ability to use it.

I have the evos. I mounted them the the factory sliders. It took me 6hours, A powerfull drill w/ a bit to drill though the tack welds, a few bolts, and a metal cutter to cut through the sparco brackets. The work nice.
