D15 short block d16y8 head
Got an odd questions that I dont know if anyone has run into. I have a 98 civic ex that had a rod go through the block. I got the car with the bad motor just to toy around with. I also have a 1995 d15 non vtec (removed from a Dx). I was basically going to do a mini me swap to the 98 (The original head was cleaned and checked with no problems). The problem I ran into is the 95 block does not use a knock sensor (no big deal-there's a hole in the back of the block i think I can just JB weld it into) or the crank sensor. I was wondering if anyone ever did this variation of the swap. Can a d16y8 oil pump which has the mounting point for the crank sensor work with the d15 (1995 block) and if someone has done this is there any other issues you may have run into??? I know I can probably find a yard motor for $600-$700 but what funs that!
