Help! Need an opinion!
Hi guys. I drive an EF that I bought from my neighbor for $800, not molested and rust free...and I'm wanting to sorta customize my car. I really hate my OEM bumper, because it looks like ***. so I was thinking of getting a kit, when I stumbled onto this forum. This is the bumper I

Should I do it? Lol..Also. I was thinking that if I get that kit, I could get fog lights on the bottom left and right spaces, then move my blinkers up to the corner lights and get clear bumper lenses for extra lights Lol..just an idea. Opinions please??
PS don't flame me, I'm only 17 = =...I just want my car to look nice, because I plan on driving it for a loong time.

no dont do it that kit looks like *** im not trying to be mean just stick with the OEM bumper or get the jdm SIR front end https://passwordjdm.com/JDM-EF9-88-9...P1291C110.aspx
I dunno man. I, for one, am not a fan of the OEM look. I dunno maybe it's because my bumper looks like ***. Only want to change that front bumper. I already have some rims coming in, and my cousin is helping me build a 1.8L something(I dunno what he called it..he said it'll be better than a b16?)..for FREE! Interior stuff I don't really want to do much, except maybe reupholster the front seats and switch up a jdm integra back seat ( a bit too cramped in the back for 3 people..and it looks better). I just don't want it to look old and whatever, of course since I'm 17. Lol. Rice out!
PS. I'm not not appreciating your opinion. I think that the JDM look is nice..and I'd go for it if I had the money, but I don't. I have a set budget on my car, and I intend to use all of it (given my parents owe me 4k).
Yes I bought and insured the car myself.
EDIT: I just realized I contradicted myself. in my above post I said my parents will only pay for so much..meaning they'll pay for me, but just not that much for one thing (if that makes any sense)
EDIT2: I'm really not trying to rice out my car. I just like how that bumper looks.

I can't find a lip that would look good. Also, my car's black. and the bumper looks really plasticy
EDIT: well not that I can't find a lip. It's just that shipping to Canada is always so outrageous
EDIT2: @Skavenger: Yah man, I appreciate the opinion. I agree with you, that JDM bumper does look good.

hey, ill tell you, if youre 17 and dont have much direction, the EF honda is NOT the car to have. even experienced old-timers have trouble finding lips and aro parts for that car because they are virtually non existant. the up side is that mechanically, its basically the same as any 88-00 civic or integra, and all teh parts are interchangable with minor mods.
so cosmetically, you might want to look at leaving it stock, until you gain experience. that way, when youre 20, you dont look back and say "damn i wish i didnt put that ebay bullshit" on my car. focus mechanically for now. an 800 dollar EF is goign to need every bushing replaced, the suspension, everything.
a shiny ebay bumper doesnt mean **** when your car wont drive straight. hope that advice helps you on your way to not joining the douchebag club. good luck.

Parts for EF's aren't impossible to find. Well decent "h-t point" parts aren't. But the money you'll spend will definitely outweigh the cost of the car. And you just have to know where to look and when to jump on the deal. Do you have any pics of the car?

Yah I know its a tricky car. truth is, it's in good shape. I'm getting the 1.8L engine (still dunno what it's called LOL) in on spring break, but the stock one right now runs fine. I have brake pads and rotors coming in, and I'll do some exhaust stuff later. as you can tell I'm fairly new to this..
by the way, your post was fairly helpful until that little hostility at the end
@**** Me Honda
I've looked all over the place for cheap stuff. Whenever I do, it's always shipping that kicks me in the nuts. And yeah I do have some pictures..but they're not very up to date..Lol from last year..but I haven't done much

I've seen some EF's with that kit, and it honestly doesn't look that bad if it's put on properly...I think I might give it a try. I can always just do a dry fitting and if I don't like it, I can return it
Not trying to take over your thread, but here is what your car can look like with your stock front bumper. I know it's not a hatch, but it's the same front end basically. These are both of my cars.

Here is your interior with an 94-01 integra center console. It gives you cup holders, and more storage. Plus looks better. Don't mind the home made shifter extender. lol. Plus it gives you an armrest!!!!

This is just to show the home made 9 dollar lip. It is not huge, but looks kinda cool. It's just garage door foam from Home Depot, with two sided tape holding it on.
Hope this helps man. It's really easy to make these cars feel solid, and newer. It don't take much money either if you just look into it,and ask questions. PLEASE don't get that bumper. I'm all about doing things aside from JDM just because I like different, but aftermarket bumpers on old Honda's Make them look even more cheap. Good luck. If have have any other questions just ask!!!

Like stated before. any cosmetic upgrade for your car right now that won't require a flamesuit will cost you more then the car. i say drive the car for a bit, then if you really really need to mod it aesthetically then buy the bumper. but if your looking for more honda-tech forum friendly mods, then save up and buy something newer definately. Seriously modding cars that old are for more of the die hard enthuntiasts, those guys who will hunt down the parts, and pay 3 months in wages for that wing or wheels.
And if there is one lesson to be learned from the 90's, its the fact that fiberglass body kits are mostly junk and not even worth the time.

@Im a joke
Holy crap! O__O. if I do get a lip, I should repaint it, right? Since the it looks so plasticy and stuff. oh and I really really need fog lights, but I want to have them look flush, as if they belong there. How would I be able to do that?? also, how much did that center console cost you? Thanks!
oh and I saw a $300 JDM bumper for my hatch, and it looks round O_o. Is that aftermarket?
@**** me honda
I've had the car for almost a year and a half. the car has about 317xxx miles on it LOL (I put on quite a bit, myself). I figured that if I mod my civic, it'd be cheaper overall than buying a new car, and I'd have that sense of accomplishment.
