I have a 93 honda accord lx and when i am on the highway, I will be driving between 55-65 mph and my car will just start rev up and down liek someone is hitting the gas peddle and letting it go off and on. Sorry its a little difficult to explain. But i have checked the transmission fluid and it is at the correct level and so are the other fluids. Please help.

 

do you have a check engine light? is this only at 55-65? will it do it even in D3? will it do it at the specific RPM if you rev it up in park and hold it there

 

No there is no check engine light at all. And to be honest im not sure about the rpms bc the rpm needle doesnt work anymore it just bouces around. but yes it happens only aroun 55-65 mph the only other thing that i am having a problem with is that when i am on the highway at those higher speeds the engine gets hot and then all a sudden the heat will go back to normal. i just need to keep this car running for a little while longer.

i have not tried it in D3. I will try and do that tomorrow and repost. It wont do it in park it only does it when i am driving

 

You may be experiencing the torque converter locking and unlocking.

 

i drove my car on the highway today and put the car in D3 and it did not do it. Then after i realize that it was not going to do it i put the car in D4 and it didnt do it then either. Now my car was warm it was being driven a little before that. I dont know if it will do it when it is cold i have had problems before when it was cold and when it was warm also. but i did not try it in D3 when it was cold. It does not do it when i accelerate. it only does it when i am driving at a constant speed.

 

yeah, same thing mine does. Its just the torque converter locking and unlocking, perfectly fine. Dont worry about it
