depends if your tranny is auto or manual. also depends on the gear. on auto tranny its pretty normal if your on 4th gear at about 3-4k rpm

i would say 3rd gear 3 to 4 k but my car is pretty weak so maybe thats why i dont notice. i just didnt want it to be a timing problem of a air fuel ratio problem

i actually tested on the way to work. if i floor it before 4 k it will down shift but i guess my best example would be like 65 mph like 4500 rpmish 3rd gear. it wont pull any harder at full throttle than 3/4 throttle.

so im guessing you have an auto tranny since you say that it down shifts.
well if your engine is the d15 that explains it. put at vtec head on it and switch to a manual tranny and your good. or you can just put a vtec head on it and it will still do better than its doing now
