i have a 96-98 ctr cup holder and trying to figure out how to put the radio in it. i tried to test fit it once and it was slightly bigger then the whole. Ive seen pictures of others getting a radio in the bottom cup holder of 96-98 usdm civics . ive searched and have been unlucky with it . please direct me to a correct thread or post pics please

JDM CTR cupholders are the same idea. Remove the pocket and use the brackets that hold the pocket in to mount the radio.

Make sure you don't use the "sleeve" that comes with your aftermarket deck. Just put screws right through the bracket on the cupholder piece and into the deck.

I remember I talked to you in an old thread I made on the same subject:

Maybe the top picture on that thread will make it easier for you to visualize. It shows the bracket I'm talking about.
Good luck

well finally found my cup holder from storage and the stereo fits . not perfect but it will do . now to find screws that will fit the stereo. i dont remember if the stereo came with the bolts or not but i wouldnt know where they r . anybody know what kind of bolts they are?
also has anybody tried taking off the face cover that comes up when the cup holder opens. i think it will fit better without it. well see

As for the lid, I have been thinking of doing this as well. If you have any luck, let me know

well found the screws that came with the deck and they worked perfect . now working on getting the lid off looks like it just has a rod going through keeping it atached to the cup holder . trying to push it out but its barely budging. maybe need some wd40 to lubricate it . after that should be easier if not maybe ill just break it off.it hits my radio when it opens and id prefer that it wasnt there at all .maybe ill figure it out next week

after about an hour of trying to remove the flip up part of the cupholder it just wasnt budging. i used wd40 to lubricate it but the rod just didnt budge . sooooo i just broek it off. i used some wire cutters to cut the 3 tabs off that keep it on and im happy with it ima try and get some pictures. not saying its for everyone but it better suites my needs

Nice job.
I was going to put my deck down there but got a double-DIN Pioneer screen instead.
Its good to know the lid fix can be done though. I will definitely be doing that if I put a standalone equalizer down there like I plan.

its easier when you have a remote for the stereo besides ive wanted that space in the climate control for 3 gauges for the longest time.
Yeah, that double-DIN slot would be a nice area for gauges since there's a lot of room and its at eye-level.
I've also been thinking of installing a couple gauges by the cupholders...atleast a voltmeter or something. Do you think there would be room if I removed the pocket?
