Default Advice on a 04 lx a/t

Aye, what up. I've been looking around and doing my homework like a good boy for about 6 months now. So far I've only did the suspension on my car(tokico blues,Neuspeed Race Springs) Now I'm about to go under the hood. I've looked into Nitrous, K-swap, and Turbo. Since this is my first Honda I just want to something fun to drive, just to wake the engine up a little bit.

I've read all over the web that a NA build is a waste because the D17 doesn't play well with bolt ons. I've seen dynos of NA D17s after K-Pro and my jaw dropped. Thats something I wanted to pursue until I realized that k-pro doesn't work with a/t. My question to you HT is there a way around k-pro? Something else that will yeild same results? If not will I/H/E make the car a little more fun to drive? Nothing major, just wake it up a lil? Thanks for helping out a fellow 7thgen owner!

You "read all over the web" and missed the plethora of experienced opinions that say those things do no good for a D17? The only thing they're good for is making noise.
It's all over this forum, too. All you had to do was search. *hint* *hint*

Yea, I've read about the bolts on being no good. Then I also hear people say it makes a difference with a K-Pro tune. Some users from other boards say the bolt ons makes the car fun to drive? Like I said, I'm not going for anything FAST. K-Pro was something I was looking into tho. Whats your take on it tho? Is there any way around tuning a a/t without K-Pro? Thanks!

so your going for straight line speed in an auto. take it from me, it is going to take ALOT. i have a complete turbo kit that im still debating if im going to throw on anymore (non crapzod kit). trust me, if your going to do it, make sure you have deep, deep pockets and patience. even with the help of tons of reputable members (andyman, skipbarber, bomerman, boilermaker, and robclark just to name a few..all LOCAL too) i still am having doubts about continuing. good luck to you though.

Thanks George, always there when I need ya! After hearing your valued feedback, I'm just gonna build a clean car. Intake, maybe catback to make some noise and thats it. Since I'm in an auto no K-Pro so I'll just cruise looking clean for about 3 years till I can get something else. Thanks!

np. just build a clean looking car like you said. I personally have my stock exhaust on (had greddy and had tanabe getting rdy for boost) and i decided to stay stock. way too much droning for a 4spd. youll be at about 2.5k to 3k rpms @ 70-75mph and gets tiring over time.

it is possible to turbo an auto though. it's been done but you'll need to spend time on the tranny though [ie: rebuild with bulletproof torque converter or a tranny cooler]. but remember..it's all time and patiences.

Yeah, since it's auto there's nothing wrong with a clean car. There's also nothing wrong with changing the exhaust note a bit, if that's your thing, but I don't think it's worth the time and money investment that would be necessary to go with throwing on a turbo.

Yea, I feel ya. Like I said, wasn't really looking for anything "FAST" just something a lil fun to drive. Making it look clean and intake, maybe exhaust and I'm done. I'll just grab goodies here and there for my EM2.
