OK i'm painting my dc4 black and I know what Granada black pearl looks like cause of my GSR. It has almost a brown under it. Almost like a really dark root beer. But what other Blacks are there? Or does anyone recomend a non-OEM black. From another car company? nissan, mazda etc. I've looked online but my comp doesnt show the detail. They all just look black. For instance what does nighthawk black metallic look like close up in person?

I know this is kinda confusing what I"m asking. But if you have a question about what I mean just ask. I just want some details on other blacks.

Ive also been researching and am trying to find out what the color code is for Type R black I believe it is Starlight Black Pearl but then someone told me it was Nighthawk Black Pearl, so I know what has like a blue metal flake and the other is Gold..i think. If anyone could shed some light and maybe some detailed pics I would also appreciate it.

 

Go to your local paint shop and they should have samples of colors for you to look at.

 

I suggest Mercedes SLR McLaren Crystal Galaxy Black Metallic. It's black with several colors of flake in it. Some blue and purple. It's really hard to take a picture of, but in person it's crazy.

if you want just a solid black.. I say go with Nissan 350z Super Black 03-05 Models. This is the color that I am about to paint my S2K. Even when its dirty it still looks wet.

older integras have granada black, which has the gold flakes, and the itr is flamenco black, black with lots of different colored flakes in it. nighthawk black has only blue flake in it. Just go somewhere that sells paint and you can get any color black you want.

Ive painted one of my integras granada black and a civic hb fbp and i really like both, just depends on what you like! either is a great color. IMO the gold in the granada black shows more

i had a granada black teg i painted granada black again, and i was like wow, my paint looks sweet! Looks way with dif fresh paint, i didnt even know it had flakes before i repainted

 

I'm liking Flamenco black pearl I think. Any opinions on that? BTW that crystal galazy black sounds awesome, but I really do want to stay with a Honda color, I know I asked for anything, but I think I changed my mind.

 

Are there any pics you can post up of the flamenco black? and what car brings that crystal galaxy black? That sounds like a crazy color!

Flamenco was the black they used for the 2000 ITR's, according to www.itrca.com

The Crystal Galaxy Black is REAL close to Flamenco Black, just heavier on all the flakes. My car was Flamenco Black so I didn't bother with the jambs and it's so close that even during car show judging no one has said anything. It just has a little more POP to it.

I really like that color. Just kinda going for an ITR replica look, so I wanted the color used on black itr's.
