b16 swap code 16 fuel injection
I have an 89 4 door that used to be dpfi, it threw a code for fuel injectors on occasion. The motor blew up and was replaced with a jdm b16a and converted over to obd1. the motor will start but will not rev over 1.5k rpm. it throws code 16 for the injectors. The injectors are functioning correctly as well as the main relay and ecu, wiring has been checked thricefold. What could possibly be causing this code and how could i go about fixing it? thx
The injector circuit receives constant power when the main relay is energized. The ECU grounds each injector at the correct time and for the correct duration as required. If the ECU doesn't see anything on the "ground" side of the injector(s), it will trigger a code 16. Of course, any failure upstream of the injectors, (fuse, ignition switch, main relay, wiring) will cause the same code.
Sorry I can't offer more help.

i swapped relays so i know that its functioning properly, the injectors came from a running car and i unplugged each one separately when it was running and the motor bogged like it should, ive swapped ecus and i get the same code....im starting to think its the wiring since it was a preexisting problem i never looked into
yea every injector is firing as it should, the engine runs fine up until the 1500 mark then it wont rev any higher. ive unplugged each injector individually when the motor was running and it caused the motor to bog a bit as it should
hmm hard to say.just yesterday i was helping a friend trouble shoot the same issue as what you're saying and there were a few things wrong. one was that he had his injector plugs in the wrong injector, i.e. INJ1 was plugged into injector 3 and etc. the other was his obd1 conversion which stemmed from not swapping the wires on the distributor. it was minor wiring issues. not sure if that helps any.

ive gotta double check all the wiring when i get the chance...my only concern is that it threw the code before when the motor was stock...i swapped out the injectors and the code remained. it caused no running issues so i left it at that. this makes me think that its an inherent issue in the cars 20 year old harness...
