Installing Autometer Oil Pressure Guage?
Ok guys I did a search and nothing came up. I just bought an Autometer oil pres. guage and have no idea how and where to hook it up. If anyone can give me some advice it would be great!
If its a mechanical gauge then run the little line into the engine compartment, behind the engine. Locate the oil pressure sensor. Remove it. Get a T fitting that will thread into the block. Thread the sensor into that T and the line from the guage into the other part of the T.
I have heard that people have had problems with the T breaking and losing oil pressure while driving. If you want to do it this way you can. You will do it the same as above, but you dont thread the T into the block. Instead, mount it on the firewall and get a steel braided line to run from the hole in the block to the T. Hook it up and your good to go.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, J

I have trouble beliving you couldn't find anything with a search.
Try "pressure + switch" or "sending + unit"
Any way, the stock oil pressure switch (sensor) is located just to the left of your oil filter. About 2 inches I think. You will see a wire going into a rubber grommet shaped like a hershey's kiss. Under the grommet is the oil pressure switch.
To remove the switch You need a DEEP socket (22 or 24 mm).
The threads of this hole in the block are BSPT (Brittish Standard Pipe Thread Tapered). *NOTE* this is NOT compatible with the NPT fittings you find at most auto parts/home improvement/plumbing supply stores. There are many threads on this forum adressing this issue, if you need to you can contact the guys at C-Speed Racing to get the parts necessary to install a gauge and mainain the use of your original oil pressure switch unit.
Hopefully Mista Bone would be kind enough to post the pic I made of the adapter setup for installing oil related accessories at this port in the block.
Feel free to ask more questions when you get to the install.
Good Day

I have a Moroso pan for a b-series with an aluminum bung welded into the back for an oil pressure guage. Want to buy it??? 'tis fo sale...

and a oil pressure gauge would never work if you put the sender in the oil pan. You need a source under pressure. That bung in your pan is most likely for a turbo oil return......

Here is a link to the place where you can get the fitting. This fitting is hard to find and is BSPT.
Also if you have not opened the guage I would recommend the electrical one. Not the mechanical

on a side note my friend has the greddy oil pressure gauge and i like that much better. the whole connection of it is much easier than the autometer. all the wiring is connected via a plug that connects to a sender that fits right onto the stock sender (if my memory serves me right).

i guess i am unclear on the TOO method, i looked and that seems to be a mechanical gauge install. if i am just being a bonehead just let me know, i'll look more at it when i am not at work
