i bought a new main relay for my 1990 honda accord and the car still won't won't start so i checked if it getting spark and no spark????wats next!!!!!someone please help??? i been at this for weeks and can not figer it out??
I am having some similar issues with my 94 EX. One day my car just cranked and cranked after being in the sun, and I found out the problem was the main relay (thanks HT!!) Now even after soldering the weak joints, the car wont start!! I turn the key, and it doesnt do ANYTHING!! Sometimes it does this for a second or so, then starts up. Sometimes it just doesn't do anything until it wants to!! Any ideas on what my issue might be? This is making me want to get rid of my car

I'm having a similar issue in a 96 EX which I originally thought was the main relay, but I've since changed it and it still occurs from time to time. When mine (my girlfriend's) isn't starting, it's not priming the fuel pump. I'm just wondering if something else is failing and keeping the ECU from sending the ground signal to the relay - which would prime the fuel pump. I'll hopefully run more tests this weekend, but it's hard to diagnose when it's working...

try replacing the ignition coil in the distributor and buy a new main relay. you probably messed it up trying to solder it.

I had the same problem changed the distributor.Ignition coil.igniter.main relay checked to see if the fuel pump is working it is. I did all the things listed to find out that i snaped my crank shaft...So i say you check that. Does the car crank over?? NO spark or anythig??
i wake up this morning and tried for the final time and it didn't start??it cranks but doesn't start??? so i checked for fuel and spark and its getting both??so i swaped a different ignition module and the car started right up!!!but the problem iam having now is that the car won't rev past 3,000rpm???????
and another problem i having is the check engine stays on all the time?it doesn't flash
The '90 Accord has a red light on the ECU that flashes stored codes. It can be read through a small window in the ECU mounting plate and ECU case. Peel up the carpet in the passenger footwell and check the codes with the ignition turned on.
sounds like the distributor with no spark i was having the same problem, does the timing belt turn but doesnt fire up? change the distributor!
yea i checked the red light on the ecu and it does not flash at all.. the dizzy does have spark but the ecu red light does not flash???
