There is no "end-all" best setup, period. What are your horsepower goals? Reliability? Cash?

Why would you want to do a B18C block and put a PR3 head on it? No, the B16 head does not outflow the GSR head.

To each his own. Just do research and read the TONS of other posts just like this one. It all depends on the money you have to put into the build. Somewhere is the quote someone posted on whats best to go with, with the amount of money you have....but Im to lazy to search for it since you didnt search before you posted either. Either way this will prob be locked...GL

One of the best answers i've ever seen to this question

125cc Honda dirt bike motor. It weighs under 50lbs, revs to 10000rpms, and makes 320hp/liter.

There, now that we solved the question that is constantly on everyone's mind, let's talk about pizza.

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.
Edited for the Whiners:
This is NOT a complete list, as there are mini-mes, LS-VTEC swaps, budget/poor man's ITRs, etc. Use the damn search button a bit more religiously.

What's the best engine for boost... the one that gets TUNED properly.
What's the best engine for drag racing... the one you spend the most money on making FAST.
What's the best engine for road racing... same thing.
What's the most reliable engine... the one you MAINTAIN religiously.
What's the cheapest engine... the one that's in your car.
