Default Why is 90-02 grouped together?

Anyway we could split the accord section up? The newer Accords, specifically the 98-02 have no resemblance to the early 90's in construction and build.

It would just be a lot more convenient to be able to browse through half or a third less of the threads that I do in the section...Civic guys get all the love, why not help an Accord member out.

Well the 98-02 doesn't share with the 03+ either. So you're wanting a whole section for a car that's not nearly as popular as the civics that also shares a similar engine - F23?

It's more a 90-97 than a 03+ and doesn't have enough of a following on HT for it's own section.

It may have more to do with vehicle population density.

The Generations G1.G2 and G3, although still represented, do not represent the majority of Accord activity and are well represented elsewhere.

The Generations G4,G5 and G6 are the most actively represented and supported by the aftermarket and motorhead community; thus you see it represented here.
The Generations G6 and the now G7 are to a great degree still under some sort of Warranty / Certification program and have not yet fully filtered down to the used car market. It's because of the initial lack of familiarity with the product that the interest is just now starting

Cuz all the 4cyl engines from 90-02 are F-Series. It's a perfect cut-off year.

the only thing they have in common is the name "Accord" and that they have an "F-Series" motor ... almost everything else is pretty much different ... fortunately i dont care because i dont spend much time on this forum

I guess it makes sense for those Accords that have the f23, but not all Accords are 4cyl. The G5 and G6 came with 6cyl, and share little in common with their 4 cyl counterparts.

I work on all of these cars daily. They have a lot more in common than you're claiming.

If I were setting up the forum, I also would have done it exactly the way it is. You have to understand the history of the forum and how things have evolved.

You also have to understand that having too may forums is detrimental to traffic and usefulness. A separate sub-forum for every single generation and engine configuration is counter productive and would only stretch the userbase thinner. Would you rather have a forum with no traffic and no turnover, where nobody answers your questions and you have threads from 2 weeks ago still on the first page?

And absolutely no one that visits this site is modding them to the degree that the 4th gen and 5th gen I4's are being modded.....To mod a 5G or 6G V6 Accord is way more $$$$$ than a 16-25 year old want's to spend. Haven't you noticed that 99.9% of the posts here deal with "As cheap as posible". That doesn't work with a V6. First off you need to swap in a reliable transmission that's more money than most people want to spend right off the bat. Not to mention there is absolutely no after-market suport for the V6. It would all be custom parts = more money. Power to dollar ratio it's cheaper to mod an I4 Accord.

You dont need to tell me how much money and effort is put into modding a v6, I know through first hand experience.

It was just a simple question, I can understand the whole user traffic issue. I guess theres not that many v6 accord owners on here anyhow. It just didnt make sense to me why a 1990 Accord f23 would be grouped the same as a 2002 v6. I understand the issues of traffic and stuff the site would run into.
