Can a Lincoln mig, weld alum?
75/25 currently.
I was in Home Depot, and I happen to see they carried alum wire for this thing...4043 if I'm not mistaken.
It didn't have any info on the gas usuage, or anything, but I was curious if it is possible to mig alum?
Basically i/c pipe and what not.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Don't you need a spool gun for MIG to weld alum?

oh yea forgot to mention keep it as straight as possible and also if you can get a shorter gun get it, and just be careful how you set the tension on the wire feed roller as it does bird nest very easy
It was approx $400-500 bucks.
It mig's very well imo. I've had ZERO problems with it, thats why I ask.
So it's possible to do small jobs with alum, it's just the welder may have issue feeding the wire?
I'll look into the accessories and see what I can come up with.
Thanks.

i have heard of people using what you have to do some small jobs.just get a bottle of 100% argon and some of that wire you seen there in the store and try it out.i have used my dads spool gun setup on his miller and it is a very messy looking weld though.
