I'm looking at a '90 civic for sale lately. It's a pretty decent little car, the price is right, but it's an automatic. My question is: is it difficult and expensive to put in a manual transmission? My knowledge of cars is fairly limited, but I know a couple of friends who would be willing to help with this kind of project. Should I just keep looking at other cars?

 

Thats a really hard question to answer. If it was me it would be cheap and easy, because i've done that type of thing before. (2 auto to manual swaps on 5th gen civics, never a 4th gen, they're actually supposed to be even easier) It all comes down to if you can get free labour, or pay some friends in beer, and how much the parts are going to cost you.
