Default Differences in waterpumps?

I am trying to buy a new water pump for my 95 EX, the Honda part number is 19200-P08-004, there is someone selling one on ebay as a dx lx ex pump for a bit less, but the number is 19200-P10-A02. If i look up the pump for the lx dx models that is also the number that comes up, but i was under the impression that all d series are the same, does anyone know if that is true, or should I just buy straight from honda, they are both new oem so they are both of good quality.

I've been through this before and I bought the Z6 water pump. It's a different part # and could be a different part - the gear may have a different tooth count but I never checked.

yeah, that wouldn't really cause that much of a problem, although i would want it to have the smallest tooth count if anything, get a little more flow, but then you could run into belt tension issues.

uhhh you guys are forgetting the most important part. the number of teeth on the water pump determine which timing belt you would run. get the Z6 pump and use the Vtec timing belt.

Try avoiding those water pumps from Autozone or Advance. Last time, I wasted my money by getting one of those for my LS motor and one of the mounting holes did not line up at all. Had to replace it with one from the local Acura dealership.

Yeah its an oem Honda piece, and different gear count wouldn't affect the timing, only the tension.

Yeah i know they are different engine sizes, but i remember reading that they were the same pump. using bernardiparts.com the ex and cx spec a 19200-P10-A02, while the dx and lx spec a 19200-P08-004.

I just found out that they are in compatible, same tooth count, but apparently doesn't fit quite right.
