Hey guys, i am replacing my friends blower motor but am having a big problem: I think the motor i got at the store is wired up backwards.

Here is a top view of the motor and how it spins, it spins in the direction where the air does watch on the edge of the fins. The way it is now, the air comes from the middle and then blows out the sides. and doesnt seem to blow much. The way it looks like is that the air should comes from the sides and shoot up from the middle.

Is this one wired backwards? (sry for the crappy drawing):

Is your blower connector/wires instead in reverse polarity?

 

im sure they are but that would be the factory's fault that made the connector. Thhe connector is a semi circle with a flat side on the other, so its impossible for me to connect it backwards. This is actually on a Ford Escape that i was working on.

I could cut the wires and solder it in the opposite polarity that it is now, but its under a lifetime warranty so i don't really want to mess it up. ill take it back and get a new one for him somewhere else. if for some reason they wont take it back because it was installed/tested, ill just cut the wires and solder them backwards.

 

Take it back to where you got it and tell them whats going on. It could have been made wrong, last part made late on a friday. This is of course if it is still out of the car.
