Default gsr help

just put a obd 1 gsr with a b16 head and jdm b16 intake in my dc2. got the right v-tec sol. and dist. but now i am having some bad idling issues. It sits at 2k for idle then starts bouncing up and down irratically. whf? tried to track down a vacucm leak cant find one. swapped all the "new" sensors off the engine for my old ls ones that i know work and no change. swapped the throttle body and the same thing. what gives?

Remove the intake, start the car, and seal the TB with your hand. if it keeps running, you have a vacuum leak.

Do you still have the B18C1 intake manifold on? If so then there is an idler air box on the back of that intake. If that is dirty, that could be the problem. But it sounds like your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) might be malfunctioning...recommend changing it out for a new one.

I like to diagnose the problem before i start swapping random parts. For the TPS, it would be in the OPs best interest to check the voltage profile first. I highly doubt that it is at fault.

i had an extra tp so i swapped it, i swapped the iac and no b18c intake, just a b16b intake jdm one. its what i go the head from, i got a complete b16b and used the head on my gsr block. the b16b had a bad rod bearings and rings. no i dont have it anymore. after swapping thoses parts it still did the random idle, its even shot up to 4k so far. wtf????? seriously i'm f*ing puzzled

Do you really think the techs at your local Honda dealer have any in-depth engine swapping/hybrid troubleshooting experience? If so then that's cool, but if not then eh... probably not a good idea to take it there.

Of course I would never take my car to the dealer for service anyway, unless it was under warranty.
