door lock actuator
I searched. any body have any helpful diagrams or directions on replacing the door lock actuator? i literally did 99% of the job and am actually touching the actuator (its already loose), but its connected to several rods and lots of other things. seems difficult to disassemble them from the actuator much less put them back together correctly. not to mention the work space is tiny along with the sight. any help ?
all I can really say is take some pictures of the lock rods with your cell phone before you pull them off. If you really look at where everything goes inside the door, its really not as complicated then it might seem at first.
If you are only replacing the actuator, you do not have to remove the latch (which is connected to the rods). See this thread for how to take out the actuator on the 5th gen.

I respect your opinion. I replaced the latch before and have taken out only the actuators before. I found I could replace the actuator much faster than removing the whole latch/actuator assembly, and found it unnecessary to remove the latch since that was not the problem. With the latch removal, you have to pull the door handle out, disconnect the rods, remove the three phillips screws holding the latch to the door with an impact driver, etc.; whereas the removal of the actuator only required the removal of the philips screws attached to the actuator (which has to be done anyways if the latch was removed with the actuator). -- Not counting other little procedures that has to be done with the removal of either. If I can save time and work, I would choose that path.

i see..
Ive never had to pull the door handle out tho... :shrugs:
Yeah most newer hondas you cant remove the actuator without removing the latch..for this particular model the way you do it is probably faster..
