I have a '91 Accord wagon. It pulls hard to the left and makes a loud squeaking sound no matter which way the streering wheel is pulled. Could this be a bad rack-n-pinion? Does this also require alingment? Too big a job for a "shade-tree mechanic"?

 

I'd have the brakes looked at immediately.
Both the hard pull and the loud squeek could be caused by a siezed Brake Caliper w/pads worn to metal.

Alignment could also cause a pull, but I fear the Brakes are the immediate issue here.
Ball joints could (and have) caused squeeking while going over bumps.
