Default tenzo r big brake upgrade with 16" rota grids?

hey, I was just wondering if my 16X7 rota grids would be able to clear the tenzo big brake kit? it says 16" or bigger wheel is needed. my wheels have a +40 offset

I am picking up the kit used for under 100 bucks tonight... please post your opinion asap. thanks -trevor

Actually, tenzo wheels are made by Lenso. OP, all you need are new rotors(blank) and high performance pads. Big brake kits are pointless on a street car.

Steet car? You dont need to change your brakes at all. Stock brakes will stop a car just fine daily driving it. Bigger brakes are just to help disipate the heat that is generated from constat on off threshold braking. Think about it this way you can only slow the car by appling as much brake as your times can handel. Too much brake force and the tires will lock.... not slowing the car.

IMO dont change your brakes. Its not needed.

don't relate hp to braking. If driving on the street any 10.3" brake setup will be more than enough to lock up the tires. If speeds/weight hasn't changed, then probably no reason for brakes to change.

with a 400whp car you see higher speeds alot more often because of the less time it takes to get up to speed. meaning if you have the same opening to get on it. by the time you need to slow down you will be going faster.

and I know brakes can only do what the tires can handle. but the tires can handle alot more at 140mph, Im not looking for a 60-0 braking distance but to be much more manageable on the freeway.

also no one has answered if these will clear my wheels... which was the original topic...

I dont know if this even pertains to RR/auto-x at all, or maybe this is in the wrong section to begin with, but a qwik search will give you the info in 10 sec. trolling around google gave me a good idea what they recommend using.

i quote; "Recommended for 17" and larger wheel diameters"

Next time search (read rule #6 in the guidelines), your simple questions will be answered alot faster then asking pointless questions to a bunch of old grouchy road racers and autocrossers like myself..

the amount of horsepower has nothing to do with how fast you drive on the street.

go to a track with your 400hp, not the freeway you tard.

and nobody is answering you because its a stupid question. nobody in here would touch tenzo r brakes if their life depended on it.

Nobody has answered you because nobody here cares whether or not that "ricetastic" brake kit will clear your wheels.

Get this thread moved to the "Brakes" section or start a new one there. I'll even give you a shortcut so you don't get lost on the way...

Damn... does anyone use the search here anymore???

history and questions repeat themselves.... If only those who are too lazy to search would do just that.... Search.
A little bit of reading goes a long way in not getting flamed, plus 9 times out of 10 you actually find very useful information that you didnt even know in the first place.
