CEL 4 - CKP.. lost
I am throwing a code 4.. Which is Crankshaft Position Sensor. I made sure wiring was correct (going b16a into 4 door EF).
Ive read the sensor is inside the distributor so I changed it out with another one i had laying around. Still throwing the code. It runs, but throws the code..
Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

id do a continuity test first make sure the wires are going to the correct spot on the ecu...a buddy went thru three new dist before the shop he took it to discovered he wired his mpfi incorrectly and didnt get the wires in the correct pinouts..so one make sure you got proper continuity and make sure your in the right pinouts, this ofcourse is assuming you have just done a mpfi, also did you clear the code after swapping dist?
sorry for the confusion.

If you keep getting this code, check the connections at the ECU. The repinning loosens the female side of the connector (the tab that holds tight to the ECU pin) and if it does not make GOOD contact you will get a code 4. Check the wiring before buying new parts that you don't need.
its morethan likely a wiring problem. when i did dpfi to mpfi i used shorter pins in my ecu plug and i swore they were in tight and were making connection. i threw code 4 and had like a 4krev limiter. i redid my wiring about 5 times before i noticed that when i would plug the harness into the ecu those 2 pins i believe b10 and b12 (im not positive, just going off the top of my head) would barely get pushed out but enough to not make a connection thus causing my code 4. My best advice isto make sure you slow down and check it all again, once you get used to looking at something your used to looking at its real easy to over-look stuff.
y ai had the same problem my harness was a mess from the guy before and he had them in the wrong place then it would only rev to like 3k we swapped a new dizzy out and nothin checked the wires and someone had bumped the plug wit there foot and bumped it loose we plugged it in and cleared the code and no more 3k rev limiter.....
also if the wires are flipped you will have the problem. Plain and simple it is your wiring. You have tried good distributors and ECU's so it is your wiring. Grab your DVOM, schematic, and a beer, and just **** with it for awhile.
